For more than a year during the COVID-19 pandemic, almost all educational institutions were closed. Face-to-face schools became online schools. This year it is time for in-person (offline) school to reopen. Many preparations have been made to welcome students back, one of them being staying healthy under current conditions. Here are the tips.

Tips for Staying Safe and Healthy at School During the Pandemic

1. Bring Personal Protection Such as a Mask

One of the most important things to prepare for in-person learning is to always bring a mask and hand sanitizer. This matters because the virus can spread through the air, so to be safe you can carry a spare mask and swap it for a fresh one as soon as the old one is damaged or dirty.

Just as important at in-person school is having hand sanitizer on hand. When you have touched a friend or your hands feel dirty, you can use it right away. It is especially efficient when a sink is too far away for hand washing.

2. Bring Your Own Stationery

Once in-person school starts, learning will be active all the time. Unlike online school, where you could take notes on a phone or laptop, in-person learning means bringing textbooks, pens and other stationery, so it is best to use your own.

3. Bring Food From Home

Students who are used to bringing lunch from home will find it very useful once in-person school resumes. A packed lunch keeps the food clean and its nutritional quality intact. It also saves you money. In addition, do not share eating utensils with friends.

4. Take Vitamins and Eat Nutritious Food

One of the most important factors during in-person learning is always taking care of your body. A healthy body is not easily infected by the virus, so this kind of self-protection matters most. A healthy body is also supported by nutritious food and, if needed, a multivitamin supplement.

Those are a few ways to stay safe and healthy while in-person learning is under way. Given that COVID-19 cases have recently surged and a new virus has appeared, it is no wonder that some parents hesitate to send their children. One solution is to enroll your child at Sekolah Murid Merdeka. What is it like? Find out now!
