Building Character at Global Sevilla School
A growing child needs an education that builds character. Global Sevilla School offers character education that adds positive value to a child's schooling. Building a child's character can take quite a long time, which is why Global Sevilla invites parents to involve their children in character building from an early age. Let's look more closely at what character building means and what kinds of character building children will learn.
What Character Building Means
Before starting character building at Global Sevilla School, it helps to understand what the term means. Building a child's character is a process of forming identity that involves many aspects, such as experience and independent learning.
Experience is the most important aspect of character building. It helps a child push themselves to overcome the obstacles and problems of the real world. Building character through experience also makes a child willing to take risks and committed to solving their own problems.
Independent learning does push children forward in forming their character. By learning on their own, children can try to think through ways out of the problems they face. Even so, young children still need support and help from their parents when they learn independently. Parental help also lowers the risk of a child choosing a wrong and dangerous path.
That is why character building at Global Sevilla can help parents shape their child's character early, so that the child can keep learning and developing character independently when they move up to the next level of education.
How Global Sevilla School Builds Children's Character
At Global Sevilla School, children's character is built through several educational programs, one of which is called the Mindfulness Programme. It helps children become more attentive to their surroundings and the people around them. Children are also taught how to stay relaxed and calm during lessons, so they can achieve better results.
On average, children take part in the Mindfulness Programme for about 40 minutes each week. That is the most effective amount of time for the brain to respond positively and take in lessons more easily.
Another way Global Sevilla builds character is through leadership and discipline activities, such as the student council (Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah, or OSIS) and scouting (Pramuka). Children learn a range of skills here, such as marching drills, and take part in other important activities.
Finally, Global Sevilla School has a program called Community Service. It focuses on how children can play a part and step in to help people nearby who need it. Global Sevilla School also guides children to take part directly in social activities such as gotong royong (communal work) to clear up litter, and visits to orphans and nursing homes. These activities are meant to teach children to give, and to care for anyone who needs them.
