How to Bid in KPK Seized Used Car Auctions in Indonesia

KPK used car auction guide: register on the official auction site, pay the security deposit, place bids and learn whether you won, step by step.

Used car auction of vehicles seized by KPK

Used car auctions: KPK stands for Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi, Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission, and the items it seizes are often put up for auction. They are not only cars. Anything considered to be proceeds of corruption can go on the block, such as cell phones, gadgets, motorcycles and more. Naturally, the auction prices are lower than market prices, so it is no surprise that many people like these auctions. Joining a KPK seizure auction is a little different from other auctions, so it is important to learn the procedure first. If you want to take part, here is what you need to do:

Contents
  1. Register on the Website
  2. Individuals or Legal Entities
  3. Power of Attorney
  4. Security Deposit
  5. Bidding
  6. Bid Recap
  7. Winning or Losing

Register on the Website

The first step to joining this used car auction is to register on the auction website. The KPK auction is held through written bids, and participants do not have to come to the auction venue. The web address you can visit is https://www.lelangdjkn.kemenkeu.go.id. On that site you can open the Procedures section and the User Guide section.

Anyone who wants to join the auction for KPK-seized goods or cars can take part as an individual or as a legal entity. Prospective bidders must register and then activate their account on the auction website by filling in their details and uploading a copy of their KTP (national ID card), their NPWP (taxpayer ID number) and a bank account number in their own name. All three requirements must be met, with none missing.

Power of Attorney

A participant acting as the representative of a legal entity must upload a power of attorney issued to them by the board of directors. The participant must also upload the company's deed of establishment and any amendments to it, plus a copy of the legal entity's NPWP, all in a single file.

Security Deposit

This used car auction of KPK-seized vehicles also requires a security deposit, paid to each bidder's own Virtual Account (VA) number. The VA number is sent automatically from the website to each bidder once registration succeeds. If you have not received a VA number, your registration is not yet valid, so make sure you fill in the registration form with valid data. Once you have the VA number, the next thing to watch is the deadline for paying the deposit.

Bidding

Once the deposit has reached the KPKNL holding account (the State Assets and Auction Service Office) as required, the bidder must be cleared of any sanctions list or blacklist. You will then receive a token code that you can use to bid on the auction item. The token code is sent to each bidder's email. To bid, press the bid button in the auction status menu. Before you place a bid, make sure you have accepted the terms and conditions by ticking the box stating that you wish to take part in the auction and have read and agreed to its terms and conditions.

You can bid as many times as you like until the bidding deadline, or closing time, passes. Each new bid must be higher than the previous one.

Bid Recap

After the bidding deadline ends, the application tallies all bids by amount. The recap of all bids can be viewed in the application under each bidder's username. The recap is also sent to the bidders' email addresses.

Winning or Losing

Bidders who win and bidders who lose are both informed by email of their rights and obligations. If you lose, your deposit is returned. If you win, the KPKNL will need to follow up with you or respond through the application.
